    Not surprising to see tech again underperforming the broader market post-midterms, even with improved valuations. Will the shift in Congress slow tech down? If yes (as many assume, though I’m less sure), can the rest of the market and economy thrive without the shield of tech earnings and spending?

    In fact, it looks like Trump doesn't even have 2 months to fire Hegseth before Congress does it for him. Word is that the Republicans on the way out don't want to hand this victory to the new Democrats and want to impeach Hegseth themselves.

    Hegseth is loathed in Europe. If he is replaced by a more traditional figure like Mark Esper, European leaders will hope that the forces review pulling US troops out of Europe will be stopped. Whether that's actually good for Europe in the long term is another story.

    It seems to me that the biggest short-term impact of the US midterms on Europe will be the firing of 🇺🇸Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth. Either Trump fires him in the next 2 months or Democrats will impeach him. They have the numbers with several Republicans who hate him.
