    I recently seconded Kate Chaney’s Bill to establish a new framework for the use of ADM in government. We must ensure that chasing cost-efficiency doesn’t compromise responsibility and care.

    Now the government is proposing use of another largely untested ADM tool, the I-CAN automated assessment, to inform calculations of NDIS support.

    Robodebt was a harmful government scheme. It cost lives and harmed hundreds of thousands of Australians through its unlawful use of automated decision-making (ADM). It’s hard to believe, but the Albanese government hasn’t learnt the lessons of Robodebt.
