Plus, I was admittedly a feral wild child whose biggest exposure to fandom before this was GAFF and genuinely would not have learned how absolutely fucked it was to go in leaving garbage ass comments on fics I never had to read if not for the folks there beating it into me, so...not all is lost

It sure was, and even if such a concept was always gonna end up toxic eventually (as Godawful Fanfiction and others of its ilk did, a community meant you could at least *know* who the bad actors were and engage or block accordingly

!!! And hey, no worries, that place helped to break me out of a lotta bad etiquette I learned coming from GAFF--I remember the spanking I got from posting a flame I'd made of this kid's angst fic VERY vividly 🫠 Also got into Bleach bc of the daily posts on Orihime bashing
