    Something you would think we would have by now is an open corpus of like 10 randomly selected public-domain books for each year between 1800 and 2020. I just want to train a little model that predicts date of publication; huge dataset not needed.

    Years ago, in a secondhand bookshop in Evanston, Illinois, I picked up a memoir by Kate Douglas Wiggin and was instantly charmed by the childhood story of her railway journey with Dickens. Since then I've shared it every Christmastime with the VICTORIA list. victorianresearch.org/wiggin.pdf
