There is no living with these people. Ever. The differences are irreconcilable. We have become two wildly different cultures. National divorce is the only answer. I don't know how, but it is the only way for us. Tell me I'm wrong.

    I wouldn't phrase this as "refusal to show grace to opponents," I would phrase it as "refusal to suffer fools or entertain foolishness," and I actually think it's one of his greatest strengths and positive differentiators.

    And obviously that 2008 cycle was a presidential race with open primaries in both parties and then incredibly high stakes in the general. There was ample opportunity and reason for the superrich to spend money there. And it's nothing by comparison to now. This is insane.
