    100% true story: i dropped out of santa barbara city college's inaugural video game design class after the teacher (whose go-to design examples all came from one of two CD-ROM games commonly packed in with multimedia PCs) said "and super mario bros, which i understand to be some sort of puzzle game"

    I’m increasingly grateful to game maker for not incorporating any AI… the engine has changed a lot over the years, but it’s never lost touch with its vision to be a learning space. 20+ years on and I’m still having fun making games and figuring it out like i did when i was a kid
