    It’s not about being a killjoy but my son (19) who is learning disabled is terrified of the outfits and can’t deal with strangers coming to door at night. Maybe the article should have mentioned that. (I’m home alone so I’m happy for kids to knock on the door tonight!)

    I know of families who have the stickers in their window asking people not to trick or treat because they have a child or young person with a learning disability who gets very upset at the constant ringing of doorbells and the scary costumes. We have never put pumpkins out for this reason.
