    i dont think putting stuff up publicly means you just have to take it when people are being Haters but i do think trying to regulate it so you only have interactions where people say what you like in only the way that you like it you are going to become Insane

    dont let this fool you into thinking im one of those people who has a tough skin about negative reviews im actually quite sensitive to criticism and always have been. but part of living with that has involved learning how to detangle when thats legitimate and when im not willing to deal lmao

    i basically only get engaging feedback on my work these days when i show it to people who know me well enough that they're not worried about offending me by making suppositions or asking for elaboration. strangers dont really give me that anymore, though they used to!

    and if im so honest i think the Silent Engagement era that we're in right now is because we've created this culture where everyone is so tied up in knots about how Writers are Free Labor Saints and its Rude to ask anything more of their charity (including asking any questions at all or analyzing)
