And now the party of multiracial liberal democracy can now credibly compete there statewide.

The campaign of terror and outright murder that SNCC organizers faced in 1964 Mississippi was not too far off from what resistance fighters saw in, say, Nazi-occupied France. And now the state will have a Black senator.
