The kids hating AI and the gen pop hating data centers, I can promise you that this literally never happened when Silicon Valley was making big leaps and bounds in the 90s tech scene. Email worked. Search worked. Message boards worked. It wasn't some nebulous snake oil looking for a purpose.

this is a university, there are not products or services being exchanged. there are no customers and there are no sales. idgaf what they call me (Sam, Dr. Mehr, Prof Sam, shit-for-brains, whatever) but I sure as hell am not a customer in the university to whose faculty I am appointed
