    This is like saying someone gave a speech in Spanish because they said “hola” or mentioned their “casa”. Commonly known words. I mean I heard my (adult) daughter laugh from down the hall when he said “habibi” (I had the tv on kinda loud). And I love my daughter but she’s not exactly cosmopolitan.

    He jokingly called Vance "habibi," said inshallah, and alhamdulillah (which the crowd said with him). He said his name with an Arabic pronunciation (not the latinized version). And if that means he gave his speech in Arabic, then I guess the 99% of his speech in English was my imagination.

    this is genuinely wild. The Free Press has claimed across several platforms that Abdul El-Sayed “gave his victory speech in Arabic.” The basis for this is that El-Sayed said (1) his name, and (2) three sporadic Arabic words in different contexts: inshallah, alhamdulillah, and habibi.
