    Carney has the traits of someone at risk of running afoul of genAI’s sycophantic, error-prone tendencies: a high, even hubristic self-regard for his own intelligence; an expert in a narrow domain working in a position demanding generalist knowledge. The lack of critical AI analysis here is worrying.

    seriouslyyyy I've loved getting art back that was different than what was in my head anyway because it usually means the artist figured out something important in the process that I wouldn't have been able to ahead of time because the whole point is they know better than me on art!

    YUP. learning how to self-regulate those kinds of impulses *away* from other people and then looking at things again once you're clear-headed is kind of key to being any kind of director imo

    yeah! and you gotta set aside your ego! sometimes i feel terrible at first about something someone else brings me, then i let my ego flail for a bit, come back to it, and i'm like, oh, no, this is precisely correct i am a fool. almost every time.
