  I’m going to put my rich guy hat on and say I hope that Mexico and Canada issue equal, retaliatory tariffs and stick to them for an extended period. I apologize to all the people it will cost money and the businesses it will hurt. But it’s the only way for tariffs to be seen for what they are

  Or Trump grants so many waivers he can declare victory with little economic downside. Of course this will create, promote and prolong the myth that tariffs are good & trade wars are easy to win.

  That said , I think it turns out like Colombia. They come up with an agreement quickly. It will be immaterial. Nothing really will change. But he declares victory and the “Tariff is the hammer, everything is the nail “ attitude doesnt change
