    the timeline of the rise of the defias is very simple - a price is agreed for reconstruction of stormwind - stormwind reconstruction is finished - due to onyxia's manipulations, the stonemasons demand more than was agreed for their work - the nobles deny this

    - varian intervenes to try and compromise - due to onyxia's manipulations, the nobles refuse to the ORIGINAL agreed price as well - talks breakdown, riot happens, onyxia makes sure rock is applied to tiffin's head - stonemasons flee the city and go on to recruit bandits, thieves etc, Defias formed.

    the stonemasons were an innocent party who were manipulated by onyxia, the nobles were not innocent, this is correct. the defias, however, are not an innocent, aggrieved party, they waived the possibility of that label when they started attacking and doing more damage to regular people than nobles.
