There are people we encounter on the internet who we conceptualise as Product rather than Person: something to laugh at or prod.

    「フランスで「国民」という考え方が生まれたのは，「都市民（商人・職人）bourgeois」のおかげであった。すでに1750年の段階で誰も変革を期待するようになっていたが，彼らは貴族も農民も変革の主体になり得ないことを見抜いていた。……フランスでは，「都市民」がフランス人になるのに必要な経済的条件を整えていた」 （オイゲン＝ローゼンシュトック＝ヒュシー『革命のヨーロッパ』宮島直機訳、刀水書房、2026年、pp. 162-3） 昔は欧州の知識人の「農村憎悪」みたいなのをよく理解できなかったが今では一応それが「ある」ことは理解している。例外は北欧で、社民党政権の支持基盤は第二次産業の従事者であった。
