An ideological commitment to the loanable funds model, and the resulting worldview, prevents people from seeing what's really going on with housing prices. Individual private banks mimic being financial intermediaries and this makes it seem like the banking system loans accumulated savings.

The truth is that taxes are public collections of private funds created by private banks using credit that they were granted BY THE PUBLIC. To demand full funding of all basic needs, organized majorities must understand this fact.
