    One of my pet peeves is film and book depictions of artists working. It’s always so romanticized and twee?? If your artist isn’t eating a full sleeve stale crackers while alternating between head banging to techno and lying on the floor staring at the ceiling in despair then it’s not real to me.

    Pounding headache today, but I had a wonderful call with two wonderful writerly friends I've not seen in years and it recharged me in a way I hadn't realized I'd depleted. Also, I told them about a side-project I've been working on for years and they were delighted, so... maybe?
