In the AL race for governor, the R incumbent won by only 4%, and the state shifted left by 26%. This in spite of our districts being harshly re-gerrymandered just this year! And look at Mississippi! This is what I mean when I say I don't believe these states are quite as red as you're led to believe

And consider how little of the population voted - if we can show blue voters in these states that they have a chance, who knows? I really can't see what happened here as a loss. It might be slow, but it still feels like progress.

I'm under no illusion that these states aren't more red than others, but I think there's a lot to gain from convincing everyone that they're staunchly, deeply, irreversibly red, so why even bother voting blue? But if that were the case, why keep changing the maps? Why keep stripping voting rights?
