No, I totally get where you're coming from. It's honestly ass that Canada would ever consider following in the footsteps of the US, and I can see how watching the US descend into madness would feel like a portent. I reckon I'm more angry at people who were farther from it, y'know?

Just TikTok after TikTok and IG reel after IG reel of people from far-flung places literally weeping in joy and saying "I'm so proud of you, America!!" And I can't describe the actual rage it makes me feel. I wasn't expecting it, but it's been brewing for a while now.

People worldwide saying they're proud of America for getting it right, and it chaps my ass. Many of us have been trying to do the right thing the whole time and were overruled. Our effort didn't count then, ig. You abandoned us, talked shit, acted like we were complicit. I don't want your pride now.
