    Yes, and, the vast majority of tech is not about each object or each method, it's about how easily you can tie things together. Beyond that, "Tasks" are a better real world metaphor than objects. Objects are Ikea furniture without the manual. Tasks are how we assemble objects.

    Oh the mild irony. It took me about a year into PowerShell before I realized it was something new: I call it a Task oriented language. Because its primary unit is a well defined procedure that often returns a series of objects. ( And this is not how OOP normally works )

    Yeah, though, to be fair, integrated security in SQL server has probably stopped more people from hard coding creds in a connection string than we ever care to imagine. Little feature. Big security impact.

    In my experience, never underestimate how commonly people do things the "wrong" way. Most people do not have the first clue about what is right or wrong in a given context, because they have none of that context. Your average Dev don't know Ops.

    You may want to look at LDAP. DirectoryServices.DirectorySearcher ( IIRC ) Weird query language syntax but damn fast for scanning AD ( and no RSAT required )
