It isn’t, because Mamdani is a better politician than they are. To a greater or lesser extent be communciates disagreement to Trump’s face. With the others Trump senses weakness and humiliates them. He hasn’t done that to Mamdani.

I think this is personal maneuvering toward a specific future that has little or nothing to do with any constituency she might have left. She’s just a Kristen Sinema without the Senate seat to use as leverage.

If the Dems win, she backed the wrong horse and painted her wing as slippery. If the Dems lose, she becomes the obvious scapegoat to blame. There's really no way she wins in this scenario and I'm baffled she'd let her spite get the better of her.

beneath all these pretensions, however, is just spite. she feels entitled to the seat. she feels abandoned by her party. she is lashing out and telling herself this is not a tantrum but a dignified act of bravery.
