    It's because the actual content of the specific warning/worry/freakout does not matter. The only thing that matters is the lines it allows to draw, the insider/outsider distinctions it is allows you to make -- and to legitimate the routine calls for violence and discipline against the outsider (5/5)

    I think the swiftness and consistency with which these campaigns now wash over Germany demonstrates something I was pointing to back in 2024: that the German fixation on "antisemitism" had very little to do with real-life Jews or real-life conflicts... (1/5)
