    Man, I wish we had a convection oven/air fryer when I was a kid because it's shocking how much better frozen burritos are coming from the little cuisinart convection oven/air fryer in the corner of my kitchen counter than they are from a microwave.

    all this to say, yeah, like the rest of you i strongly doubt i'll be seeing very many marginalized people reviewing gta6 day one. and that is a sign of how many publications have closed and how many marginalized people lack opportunities. but maybe that particular opportunity... should change anyway

    i also don't think we really have a good way to "deal with" the amount of harassment that marginalized people in particular face when they publish an embargo day review that is in any way critical of a game that's highly anticipated. people don't wanna hear that bad news. then, bigotry jumps tf out.

    just to be v clear, i don't blame any individual critic for ANY of this because i've done the job. goodness knows i haven't circled back and reread every single review i've done and replayed the game at a chill pace, years later, to see what i really think. if i did, idk that i WOULD agree w myself.

    recently i was looking up all the reviews for fire emblem: fortune's weave and tbh i was really surprised by how positive they all were. i feel like that game becomes such a slog later & contains so many chores i wish weren't there. but if i played all ~130 hours of it in a fugue state... who knows?
