Remembering My Dad Today...Fifteen years ago today, my father passed away, far too young. I’m lucky that we had a lot of time together, and I’m grateful for those memories. He said he would come back as a blue jay. Miss you, Dad. #83 “The Little Prince” | size 24” × 24” #CanadianArt

There's been some fairly irresponsible cuts to weather forecasting, climate change impacts science etc... The cuts to the weather radar research program and Environment Canada's climate team are particularly short-sighted. Even the Harper Government didn't cut as steeply in these areas /2

As someone teaching a climate change course, this is an interesting piece by @aaronwherry.bsky.social on the upcoming budget & Canada's emissions targets. Beyond emissions policy, I'll be watching whether Gov reverses course on cuts to climate change adaptation. /1 www.cbc.ca/news/politic...

Obviously, the correct choice is to dump a shitty fiancé who thinks nothing of tanking your career over an issue where he’s in the wrong and also won’t be changing any minds. So no pity here. Still it is an important reminder that politicians are people and not everything is strategic.

It’s not infantilizing to flag that Stevens is likely behaving so oddly because of relationship stress. It’s just basic psychology. Having a partner badgering you about a disagreement causes cognitive dissonance, which is famously painful. None of this means she doesn’t have choices.
