But yeah, it’s for sure no Utena or Yurikuma, aka two of the best sapphic anime ever made. Ikuhara is a one of a kind wunderkind storyteller. He’s the only person in the world who can do exactly what he does. Sayonara Lara was its director’s first original anime, so it was great for a first start!
Postu gösterNo shade on anyone who didn’t like the ending! It is a little sad! But it was a very natural conclusion from everything that had come before, and I thought the romantic feelings between the two girls were undeniable, in a subtle story for grown-ups kind of way. Maybe too subtle! That’s a fair point.
Postu gösterI liked the ending, but I think the ways in which it fell short are more a problem with the middle not being fleshed out enough. It’s more a story about queer self acceptance than queer falling in love. Anyone who was expecting them to make out and be happy at the end hasn’t seen much anime. 
Postu gösterPour rappel c’est une sortie exceptionnelle, ultra limitée. Je l’ai vu hier mais la plupart des autres séances sont programmées pour ce soir, et ce soir seulement. S’il passe près de chez vous et s’il reste des places, foncez, c’est une séance unique dans tous les sens du terme !

Fabuleusement drôle, sexy, queer, débordant d’amour pour le cinéma, offrant une riche réflexion sur le regard, les images et leur impact, c’est une oeuvre unique comme on en voit peu, destinée à devenir culte
