  Dame Judy Dench's sight loss due to age-related macular disease was in the news yesterday. The Telegraph called it "heartbreaking", which seemed excessive. Between 600,000 and 700,000 of us experience this in our old age, and Dame Judy is 91. It's frustrating, but not heartbreaking.
