Postu gösterPublishing “Cryptographic Right Answers” for developers is a tradition by now. Colin Percival started in 2009, Thomas Ptacek followed up in 2015, and then Latacora carried on in 2018 and 2024. I put together a list updated for the renewed urgency of migrating to post-quantum algorithms.
Postu gösterWhich is not to say that we can't gain understanding from AI proofs or work. But "math is for deterministically generating correct answers" is a very different take from "math is for understanding why certain things must be true". Most students experience the first; most mathematicians the second.
Postu gösterMany students experience math as pushing around symbols that don't really mean anything. If that's your experience of math, maybe it's hard to viscerally get mathematician's complaints that a lot of AI proofs "only" solve problems, without generating any new understanding.
