    And I swear to god if I hear one more “it’s inevitable what are you gonna do” I’m gonna scream because fine if it’s here to stay then it has to jump through all the basic af legal hoops and let’s see how fun it is when the copyright infringement machines can’t copyright infringe anymore.

    Money will dry up as liabilities increase. Lawsuits will continue. Decisions will jump up the circuits providing much more general fact pattern cases to point to. But the richest who got to market first will have still made their money by that point so they don’t care.

    They need to steal from A LOT of real works. They need that data. And they need exponentially more of it as the models improve. You can’t just feed it it’s output, it needs real humans constantly making things to teach it more. And soon it won’t be able to just take what it wants without licenses.

    Gen AI will not be going away as fully as NFTs simply due to their vastly increased number of uses, but make no mistake, copyright law is catching up. And these models just don’t work if all they can pull from is the public domain and fully licensed works

    It was the same when NFTs wanted to work outside of securities law. Don’t need a prospectus if it’s a picture of a monkey!! The first to this grift make all the money, dip, and then when securities law catches up the industry implodes.
