    When I hear someone say they don’t plan to vote, it seriously makes me question what kind of person they are. Black folks were forced to pay poll taxes, pass literacy tests, livelihoods and lives just to exercise their right to vote. Eat or vote because you can’t do both. And they still showed up.

    doesn't mean I support everyone. doesn't mean I'm going to tell people to show up and color in the bubble next to the name of someone who said they don't deserve human rights. but everyone who can show up and vote for someone without having to worry about that owes it to everyone else to do it.

    Another thing on this: I can assure you that folks will cite high Black turnout this midterm as evidence that the Roberts’ Court in Shelby County, Rucho, Callais, etc has been justified in weakening the VRA. But people outworking discriminatory law/jurisprudence is not justice or good policy.
