Postu gösterI fully understand the necessity of making research findings and policy recommendations more accessible to a non-technical public, including elected officials. But I worry about a political class that can't handle complexity because they are too busy with the machine of consensus politics.
Postu gösterMany of the problems we face in the policy sphere, whether it's code reform or construction costs, cannot be simplified down to a few quick fixs for a ready-to-be-tabled bill. The US and Canadian political systems seems incapable of handling complex non-economic topics in their legislative system.
Postu gösterMy worry is that the way we produce legislation and regulations, especially in the US, is good enough for TikTok-sized bills informed by one-pagers that would attack the problem at the margin, not for comprehensive reforms capable of really making a difference.
