    Anyway I find that trying to make people feel bad for liking a character for different reasons than you do to be ACTUALLY morally reprehensible. How you consume media does not determine your morality as a person. Engaging in dark fantasies and fiction does not mean you lack "media literacy" lmao

    I never understood how people can understand that liking darth vader or michael myers doesn't mean you condone mass murder but liking valentino must mean you endorse sexual assault. There's this weirdly parasocial element to criticisms of hazbin that I haven't seen anywhere else.

    The most insidious bit of this video though is the brief implication that its bad that this sort of content is even "allowed" to exist. Are you gonna call the cops on Valentino? Should a fanartist be put in jail for enjoying valangel? Why are we treating fiction like a crime?

    If anything the people I've seen who ship valentino and angel understand exactly how fucked it is and they do it FOR SPECIFICALLY THAT REASON. It is insulting to imply that people misunderstand the dynamic when in my experience people like it more the darker it gets.
