    I'm so used to vibecoders and AI "artists" being dismissive of and hostile to real artists that it's honestly shocking how polite these guys were to Mark. It doesn't absolve them of course and it honestly makes the situation more tense and awkward but still

    Vibecoding and cloning games is such an inherently cynical and socially violent act that to approach your victim and claim that you did it out of love for the thing they made feels twisted and gross compared to garden-variety theft

    The nicest thing I can say for these guys is that it's clear that they respect Mark and his wishes on a personal level at least a little, which, you know what, if everyone was like that then we wouldn't be in this mess

    This is me with writing. I like the process. It's terrible and miserable but I feel that much better when it's done. I'd get so bored if I just churned out stories.
