Arabic word of the day صامولة جـ. صامولات أو صواميل ṣāmūla | -āt, ṣawāmīl 'nut (piece of hardware)' n.b. 1. According to Wiktionary, ṣāmūla is a doublet of ṣammūna; both come from Ottoman Turkish صومون somun 'bread roll; nut'. 2. It was probably adapted to match the root √ṣ-m-l (~'firmness'?). +
