Postu gösterAnd while they claim that they want indie animation to "Save Animation" and want it to be their main source of entertainment instead the mainstream ones, if the trends on Twitter and Facebook tell them that it's cool to hate it, they'll gladly throw indie creators under the bus for engagement.
Postu gösterIf you want the biggest proof of this, take a look at how many cartoon YouTubers, both big and small, are still active on Twitter and making videos talking about "this discourse is trending on Twitter with the animation fandom, so the reason why the fans are angry must be valid and true".
Postu gösterAs many have already pointed out, because social media gives more rewards to those who are more cynical and hate-filled, that's why the fandom cannot function without having an enemy that they need to take down so they can feel like they have control over shaping the future of animation.
