Wow. Sci Reports published >40,000 articles last year. Massive year-on-year growth over the last ten years. Basically a money-printer for Springer/Nature publishers. My time as an editor there was not good. Very difficult to outright reject anything - big pressure to accept stuff. Slop machine.
Postu gösterCaught in my garden moth trap on 26th June, this looked a lot like the clothes moths that breed in my house, but with a faint discal spot it was worth checking for Tinea columbariella (Dovecot Moth), last recorded in Norfolk in 1899. Now done so - and it was a Dovecot Moth! #NorfolkMoths #TeamMoth

Postu gösterSpecies 8,812: Formicoxenus nitidulus (Shining Guest Ant, continuing the recent theme of species with classy English names). Several running around on a Wood Ant (Formica rufa) nest at South Blean Woods today, in a rare sunny spell between the showers.
