Postu gösterIt's my favourite year in terms of albums that meant a lot to me at the time and still do - Blue Lines, Screamadelica, Peggy Suicide, Woodface, Out of Time, Don't Try This at Home, Leisure, to name but a few more.
Postu gösterLove this. I keep a top 50 for every year, top 200 for every decade, top 1,000 of all time, and a scoring system to rank artists.
Postu göster91 is definitely up there though. I also think nobody can coalesce over one or two years from the 80s because the whole damn decade was so consistent. You could take almost any year in there and make an argument for it. Especially 88 which, as everyone knows, was the best year for albums ever. #fact
Postu gösterThe 80s was weird, but far from consistent. A lot of that decade was consistently awful, due to production choices and a pushing of style over content. 1988 was strong, but compared to 1967-1971, it's a footnote.
