  The basic wrong is Team Starmer hired Mandelson cos they approved of Mandelson's career -pushing Labour to pro corporate, pro privatisation etc. policies in Govt, then using his govt contracts to get a big £ career from corporations after Govt -and want to have the same career.

  Just as I found it hard to believe that Mandelson could have passed security clearance, I find it equally hard to believe that the Permanent Secretary at the Foreign Office withheld the fact that he did not from the Foreign Secretary.

  It doesn’t take hindsight to realise Mandelson’s appointment was a terrible idea. It didn’t take foresight to realise it at the time. It just took sight.
