This is so critically important.Department admin can’t be automated unless you want nothing to get done ever.Has anyone met an experienced admin?Half of what they do is remembering who wrote what line of the deep magic that makes the place run& being able to call in their favor at the right time
Postu gösterI remember UNH mass culling books by tossing them in a dumpster in 2014. I think it was 30K or 32K volumes? Libraries do have to remove, repair, replace books, but usually it's a year-long process with faculty & student participation.
Postu gösterWell, they can start by keeping the real books in their libraries! I heard UNH is culling 300,000 books!
Postu gösterUniversities have an unquenchable thirst for spaces to refurbish. Library public stacks get axed. Weeding imperils thinning numbers of precious print edns. I'm allergic to the idea!
