    the argument isn't - and shouldn't be - "don't ban it because it's impossible to do perfectly" but that I think there's gonna need to be a period of transition even for adamantly anti-AI platforms where they try and figure out what an answer to this looks like

    for clarity, I guess: This is not a "AI is inevitable" but it IS a "AI users are increasingly scared of public opinion and happy to lie or otherwise omit their use"

    this is a total tangent to the itch thing but I've seen a few ppl commenting like "itch's no AI tag has a bunch of tho" and... solving the problem of "people lie about this" is going to be a problem very soon everywhere, in everything, so I hope everyone's thinking real hard about it
