Which is it: Do the authors really agree with MMT's technical claims? Or do they not? Is money's historically conditioned essence reducible to capitalist valorization? Or, can money be transvalued for socialist governance? If the latter is possible, then how does Marxism help us achieve this? 12/

If MMT sits outside the authors' socialist monetary project, moreover, then how is Marxism supposed to accomplish this feat on its own, particularly when it has historically only ever reduced money's modern meaning, power, & scope to the contradictions of the capitalist mode of production? 11/

If money's historically conditioned essence is capitalist valorization, then how do we possibly transform it? Why don't MMTers, however limited or imperfect, count as valued participants in this project for these authors--as opposed to just "technically" correct? 10/

Nor do they explain how money & the state are to be radicalized for this purpose. This is especially conspicuous since they've already dismissed MMT for mischaracterizing money & the state in their effort to condemn its proponents as complicit capitalist reformists. 9/
