At the time, I said the omens were bad and that any Roman would have recognized that the omens were bad. It turns out...the omens were bad. Real failure of the Senate not to order expiatory sacrifices! I imagine the next Senate can do better; I can think of a few names to be offered up in penance.

This has been hard for people across the political spectrum to accept for different reasons, but the headline here is that Trump underperformed dramatically despite very historically favorable conditions, and Harris fought him close.
