Miami's king tides coming during the next full moon, Nov. 24-26, will also be very high, about 2" lower than the expected levels from this week. If a big storm with onshore winds sets up offshore, more top-15 records may occur. tidesandcurrents.noaa.gov/noaatidepred...

Accelerating sea level rise and wobble in the moon's orbit will sharply increase high tide flooding in Miami over the next 15 years; the record king tides of the past week will seem ordinary by the late-2030s. Minor flood days/yr expected to quadruple, from 25 to 100, in the next 15 years.

For the 4th day in a row, Los Angeles and San Diego had a top-10 water level in over a century of records; 6 of their all-time top-10 records are now held by 2026 (yellow highlights). Potential for more top-10 records Nov. 7-10 during the new moon high tides if strong onshore winds are present.

The previous record is also 9 straight days, Oct. 3-11, 2025. I incorrectly reported a shorter previous record string from 2025 using an incorrect definition of 1.70' above MHHW; the @bmcnoldy.bsky.social stat of 9 straight days is correct, using a "Moderate" flood definition of 1.68' above MHHW.

For a record 9th consecutive day (at 3:06 UTC Oct. 29), Miami had “Moderate” coastal flooding. Previous longest streak: 5 days, Oct. 5-9, 2025; King tides in 2025-26 (yellow highlights): 60% of their top 15 spots. @bmcnoldy.bsky.social predicts 2 more days to go: bmcnoldy.earth.miami.edu/tide/.
