    Literally every time I put something a little tricky in a comic (like, there's a polyptych splash page in SYTI #2) I always go out of my way to make as many little shitty graphics to break it down clearly AND tell the artist if they don't feel confident in it I can pivot That's THE MINIMUM to do

    And they would be RIGHT TO DO IT In Seven Wives we wanted to do a full shot of all 49 members of the Dunn Family and I told my editor I only wanted to pull that trigger once because A) that way it had impact and B) our artists wouldn't have to draw 50 distinct people MULTIPLE TIMES that's hellish

    I remember reading interviews with writers and seeing "comics is the best medium because I can write an epic space battle between armadas for an issue and it gets made by 2 people" and after actually writing them I know if I said something that dumb my creative partners would hunt me down for sport
