    I can't get over the souls thing. It's literally unsubtle on the level of Remmick in Sinners going "I will have your stories, I will have your songs." And it would be like if, instead of STAKING THE MOTHERFUCKER, the rest of the movie was about helping Remmick come to terms with his mortality.

    ...And then we spend the back half of 7.0 and most of the postpatches focused on empathizing with THEM, rather than the Turali they wounded. And somehow. SOMEHOW the voices SE hears are the ones going: BOO, LEARNING ABOUT NEW CULTURES WAS BORING.

    Don't get me wrong, I like a lot of what Alexandria was trying to do. I think it's neat. I think the existential horror of souls-as-currency is really cool and I LOVE Sphene as a character. But they are introduced literally bombing a city and murdering and stealing souls of indigenous people.

    LRP: I am well aware that the chuds are the ones that SE listens to but the disconnect is insane to me. Most of my friends have levied some kind of critique at DT that amounts to: "Why are we spending half of 7.0 and most of 7.1-7.3 on a plot about helping colonizers be less scared of dying."
