    They murdered bombing survivors. They imprisoned children. They held one of our neighbors on the ground and shot him to death. They invaded our cities. My overzealousness at wanting this addressed is not the problem.

    I have no problem with this new Congress being told too many times that accountability AND affordability are joint first priorities. I have no problem with that being told to them every single day between now and January. Why would you?

    If you are still doe-eyed enough to be saying “well but maybe they just mean actual revenge not lawful prosecution! Don’t judge them before they do—“ NO. Language matters, and if we’ve learned anything in the last decade it’s you either push elected dems BEFORE they act or you end up very unhappy.

    Everytime I hear “no political retribution” I think of our country blowing up fishing vessels in the Caribbean and then going back to kill the survivors. Until now, the republicans have owned that unspeakably evil behavior. If the democrats do nothing about it, they are collaborators.

    Enforcing our laws is not retribution and it is not political. It is justice and it becomes meaningless if there are exceptions for lawmakers.
