Anyways, thread over. This was vulnerable for me, but… I feel I needed to be, to drive the point home. For the first time in years, I got my life back. Instead of ignoring my life, I decided to just say FUCK IT and fix what needed fixing. I’m not implying fandom or fanfiction is bad. I’m grateful for it; it has gotten me through many a hard time. What I am trying to say is this…

The minute my recovery was over, I started fixing my life. I ended things with the abusive person, made things official with my now-spouse, and focused on making my life something I didn’t hate anymore. It sucked. It was messy. I experienced homelessness, stalking, censure. But I also felt ALIVE.

I woke up, was driven home, told I needed 8 weeks bedrest. In those 8 weeks, I was forced to sit there & THINK. Think about how much I hated my life. How I was with two people - one person I disliked (but lived with and was engaged to), but loved the other. I knew I needed to make things right.
