Ver postThere's kind of a sweet spot where it's nice if a fandom is big enough that there are people around and stuff to talk about but when it's liek TOO big it really feels like you're shouting into a void and you have to work harder to find your people.
Ver postlike honestly one of the reasons I felt like Sheith was such a strong fandom was because there were SO many writers!!!!! I'd never participated in a fandom where there were so many active writers to hang out with and I felt like there was such a culture of respect towards each other in that regard.
Ver postI don't want to litigate the ethics around sharing epubs from AO3 or whatever, I get both sides of it, but like. What really sticks out to me about this is it's another place we've removed authors from fandom. Like I just wonder if anyone bothered just asking their fav authors for a copy first.
