Etsy's new rules ban digital watermarks or text overlays. So put a physical sign with your business details overlapping your art. AI won't be able to separate the text from the object. If it tries to use your photo, it will think the text is part of what its copying ...enjoy

European traders, file a GDPR opt out request. The GDPR allows you to object to how your personal information is processed based on Etsy's "legitimate interests," and it gives you the right to demand erasure. Include the EU AI Act in your objection letter also.

They banned sellers from using AI under the guise of 'protecting the buyer' to make the site's data premium, so Etsy could scrape that premium data and license it to third party AI companies at premium prices.

🔥 Are you an independent artist or creator on Etsy? You're probably aware by now that on the 22nd of October Etsy brought in strict guidelines for sellers in a bid to purge the platform of AI generated images to "protect buyer trust."

It may also coexist with Caretaker tendencies, and/or Anxious-Avoidant tendencies. These are the people who learned early on that no one else would do for them, so they not only needed to save themselves, but others as well. Or isolate completely.
