Think this is the wrong political model. The most important part of the politics for housing is ‘what is the population size represented by the body making the decisions’. Ireland similar to the uk in that having v small planning areas gives disproportionate weight to costs.
Ver post..as it was done (to perhaps a lesser extent) in nearly every other major economy. Of course this forced re-inflation of house prices made them the only sensible wealth store for Ireland's huge savings and this is an entirely unproductive use of our money.
Ver postI moved to Ireland 10 years ago and it was the number one issue then at it is still the number one issue today, it's pernicious and affects everything, people talk about it constantly, and yet nothing changes, and the only "solutions" offered are price incentives without increased supply.
