    Someone had a post about Haley Stevens above the Anderson Cooper interview but for whatever reason the image was frozen over his subsequent interview with Debbie Dingell, but I didn't recognize Dingell, so my first thought was "DAMN! Getting dragged for a day on Bluesky REALLY ages a person."

    They became the very thing they claimed they were the opposite of as young wunderkind. bsky.app/profile/mcop... I'm sure both are smart. Being smart & clever, & being wise & having "sechel," are not the same thing. The times required a lot more of the latter two. They've both failed miserably.

    I don’t really think “not a politician” should be a selling point for a candidate. The job is politician. I want to elect someone who understands that job and is good at it and also is not a dirtbag. We have seen how catastrophic it is to make “not a politician” the priority over “not a dirtbag.”

    I swear there are politicians who are good at their jobs and care very deeply and are not dirtbags. We should choose people like that, not pretend that good work can only be done by someone who is disdainful of the entire concept of the role and their future colleagues.
